Twiistup. Sounds like a new soft drink or a new wrestling move, right? Nope! It’s a technology conference that was held here in LA on Thursday, January 27, 2010. It’s a showcase for innovators, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, all of whom are looking for the next big thing on the Internet.  Here’s the conference link: http://www.twiistup.com.

My fellow APOC students and I volunteered at the event, helping with the set up, registration and the coordination of conference presenters. These ‘showoff’ presenters introduced the crowd of about 400 people to their technology, business plans and the goals of their sites. Here were my favorites:

Mingly: http://www.ming.ly/ – really nice people, very passionate about their site.

Ranker: http://www.ranker.com/ – cool technology where you can ‘List it. Rank it. Love it.”

Lunch: http://www.lunch.com/Welcome – very interesting concept – shows you people who are like you.

Curious question…. It’s been just over a week since Twiistup…. Have you created accounts or logged into Mingly, Ranker or Lunch in that time? If not, why not?

Great that you helped at Twiistup. If you care to drop them a line, the guy who runs in it, Francisco, is @TheMan on Twitter, while Jer, who hooked us all up, is @jerpoop.

  2. Oh yes! I love Ranker – it’s my new favorite site! I’m getting into creating lists and adding them to my profiles on Facebook and MySpace. Thanks for sharing Francisco and Jer’s contact information!
